As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 316 people, 115 households, and 93 families residing in the city. The population density was 640.8 people per square mile (249.0/km²). There were 124 housing units at an average density of 251.4 per square mile (97.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.15% White, 0.63% African American, 0.32% Native American, and 1.90% from two or more races.
There were 115 households out of which 35.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.6% were married couples living together, 15.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.1% were non-families. 16.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the city the population was spread out with 29.7% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
